Flatlands Coffee: My First Ever Cup O’ Joe

Today I drank my first cup of coffee. There, I said it. As a food blogger, I am a bit ashamed to admit this fact, as I am surrounded by a world wide web  of latte lovers and coffee adicts alike. Have no fear though, I have jumped on the coffee bandwagon, and I am now permenantly along for the ride.

Early Wednesday morning, my dad and I were driving down mainstreet when we came across a, as my dad put it, “very hipster coffee shop.” No foodie should ever dismiss an opportunity to visit a café, so my dad and I pulled in to check it out.

The shop is called Flatlands, and all of the coffee there is of the highest quality, brewed individually to create a coffe experience, if you will. My dad and I decided to each try and different brew and exchange tastings of each other’s to get the full flavor profile of Flatlands artisinal coffee. I am now convinced that the reason I did not care for coffee in the past is because, before Flatlands, I had never tasted a cup of such excellent quality. The flavor was strong and earthy, with a slight hint of cocoa. I drank my entire order and was nearly bouncing off the walls from the caffine. Now I understand why people say they need caffine to function in the morning!

The ambiance of the brewery added to my excursion, and I am already planning to visit the shop tomorrow morning!

If you ever find yourself in Bowling Green, Ohio, make sure to give Flatlands a try. Feel free to invite me to join you as well ;).

Now tell me…

  • Are you a coffee drinker?
  • Black coffee or cream and sugar?

  1. I am proudly addicted to coffee and coffee shops for that matter haha. Been to Flatlands. Loved their coffee and the care they take in making each one. No cream and sugar for me unless its a specialty coffee. Nice experience you guys had!!
