My All-Time Favorite Yogurt Brands

Got yogurt?

I may not be the biggest milk drinker, but I sure make it up with my yogurt intake. On most days I eat few spoonfuls of yogurt with my breakfast, snacks, and sometimes dinner. Being the health nut that I am, the yogurt that I buy must meet certain qualifications:

  • Low in added sugars
  • Contains minimal ingredients
  • Contains live active cultures (don’t fear the name, they are good for the gut!)

Out of all the yogurt brands out on the market, these are four of my favorites that check off all of my health qualifications.

  1. Wallaby 2% Plain Greek Yogurt

Although I am fairly new to this brand, I am a big fan! (Woah I made a rhyme! Future poet?) One 6 ounce container of  plain Wallaby 2% greek yogurt contains 17 grams of protein, 20% of your recommended daily calicum value, and ZERO added sugar. Because this yogurt doesn’t contain added sugar, I usually add a few drops of stevia or a splash of maple syrup if I am eating it plain. However, if you don’t mind the tartness, this greek yogurt is perfect with berries and cinnamon on top.

2. Siggi’s 4% Flavored Skyr

If you don’t care for tart yogurt, Siggi’s is the brand for you. Unlike other flavored yogurts in the market, Siggi’s focuses on creating their products with simple ingredients and minimal added sugars. This can be extremely hard to find as most flavored yogurts in the grocery store contain artificial sweetners and ingredients that are impossible to pronounce. Lightly sweetened with agave or cane sugar, this brand delivers incredible flavors that will be sure to satisfy your sugar cravings. The 4% flavored 4 ounce cups are my favorite as they are super creamy and decadent.

3. Redwood Hill Farm Plain Goat Milk Yogurt

This brand is nothing like your traditional greek yogurt, but delicious nonetheless. Goat milk yogurt is a lot thinner and runnier than greek yogurt. However, I find that goat milk yogurt is not as tart as its greek counterpart. I love adding it to my oats with fresh berries and honey in the morning for breakfast. It is a great changeup for those looking for variety in their yogurty lives. (I think I just made up a word, but I kind of dig it.)

4. Fage 2% Greek Yogurt

Last, but definitely not least is my go-to brand: Fage. Out of all the yogurt brands out there, Fage is by far my favorite as it is incredibly thick and creamy, blowing all of its competitors out of the water. (At least in my humble opinion.) I always go for the 2% because it is not as bitter as the fat free, and I gotta get in my healthy fats! I use this yogurt as a snack with granola, in smoothies, or even as a sour cream substitute on my chili.

I hope this inspires you all to go out and broaden your yogurt horizons.

Now tell me…
